The alchemy of jewellery making: transforming silver wire through molten process | Sunday 27th July

£90.00

This is a practical jewellery making workshop with a focus on process, transformation, and working intuitively. You’ll learn how to shape, solder, and melt metal, starting with copper and moving on to recycled silver to create a ring, necklace, or earrings of your own design.

We’ll cover the basics of metalwork and explore how heat, pressure, and time can change a material. We will touch on ideas of alchemy, symbolism, and how making can carry meaning beyond the object itself.

Designs will be wire-based and shaped by your own ideas, not fixed templates.

What we’ll cover:
- Metalworking techniques: shaping, forming, texturing, soldering
- Melting and working with recycled silver wire
- Jewellery construction, polishing and finishing
- The process of transformation in making: heat, pressure, change
- Using intuition and symbolism in creative practice

What you’ll make:
A finished piece of recycled silver jewellery to take home, or collect later if it needs polishing. All tools and materials (copper and silver) are included in the ticket price.

Who it's for:
Complete beginners welcome. No experience is needed, just curiosity and a willingness to experiment. Over 18s only.
